Job summary

Maxim Healthcare Services, Inc. places Direct Support Professionals to assist individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities in their homes and community settings. You will provide hands-on support, companionship, and help with daily living activities.

The role offers training, flexible schedules (full-time, part-time, PRN), weekly pay, health benefits, retirement options, and opportunities for career growth in healthcare.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous healthcare, caregiving, behavioral health, or direct support experience is preferred; however, candidates with a strong work ethic, compassion, and a desire to help others are encouraged to apply
• Must be able to pass required background screening
• Current CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
• Reliable transportation preferred
• Ability to read, write, and document services provided

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships and provide companionship
• Assist individuals with daily living activities such as dressing, grooming, bathing, and personal hygiene
• Support meal preparation, light housekeeping, and medication reminders
• Help individuals participate in community activities, social events, and recreational outings
• Assist with transportation to appointments, programs, and community events as needed
• Encourage independence, choice, and self-advocacy
• Document services provided and communicate important updates to the care team
• Promote a safe, healthy, and supportive environment
