Job summary

Maxim Healthcare Services, Inc. is seeking a compassionate Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide one-on-one in-home care in the West Chester, PA area. You will support clients with daily living activities, promote independence, and encourage safety and well-being in a home setting.

Competitive pay ($18–$22 per hour) with weekly pay, flexible scheduling, and full benefits. The ideal candidate is reliable, patient, and capable of working independently while following individualized care

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Previous DSP/ caregiver experience preferred.
• Experience with ID/DD is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license preferred.
• Ability to work independently and professionally in a home setting.
• Successful completion of background checks, onboarding and training.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one support in the client's home and community.
• Assist with activities of daily living including grooming, dressing, hygiene, and meal prep.
• Support clients in achieving personal goals and increasing independence.
• Assist with community outings, appointments and recreational activities.
• Provide companionship and emotional support.
• Assist with medication reminders and daily routines as directed.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment.
• Monitor and document client progress and observations.
• Communicate effectively with family members, supervisors, and care teams.
• Follow individualized support plans and company policies.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Direct Support Professional (DSP), Caregiver, Personal Care Assistant (PCA), Home Health Aide (HHA), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Residential Counselor, or Behavioral Health Technician preferred
• Experience supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities is a plus
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license preferred
• Ability to work independently and professionally in a home setting
• Successful completion of required background checks, onboarding, and training requirements
