Job summary

Department for Persons with Disabilities DPD in the United States is seeking a Direct Support Professional to assist residents in group homes, provide personal care, and help meet safety and welfare.

The DSP supports daily living activities, administers medications as needed, documents services, transports residents to programs, and participates in community activities. Full-time and part-time shifts with benefits are available.

Qualifications

• Be motivated to work as part of a team that acts in the best interest of residents at all times.
• Experience with IDDD population is a plus (if applicable).
• A valid driver’s license may be required for transporting residents.

Responsibilities

• Assist and/or supervise individuals in personal care areas (bathing, toileting).
• Participate and/or supervise in cleaning, cooking and life skills.
• Administer and/or assist with medication administration.

Whats the role of a Direct Support Professional

Overnight Residential Counselor DSP Residential Counselor is a direct care professional whose primary responsibility is to help meet the personal health safety and welfare of the people living in the group home

Responsibilities

• assist andor supervise individuals in personal care areas ie bathingtoileting
• participate andor supervise in cleaning cooking and life skills
• Administer andor assist with medication administration
• You must communicate effectively with supervisors co workers and the individuals living in the homes
• Drive residents tofrom day programs outsidewithin their community using agency vehicles
• This position requires daily documentation of services provided
• Assist with fun community based activities

Job Requirements

• A valid non provisional drivers license
• The ability to meet the physical requirements of CPR
• First Aid and our emergency evacuation procedures

• All staff must attend a monthly Staff Meeting datetime to be determined and announced in advance Meeting waivers are provided for conflicts due to secondary employment andor school appropriate documentation required
