Abound Health is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide caregiving and daily living support for individuals with IDD in Hickory and surrounding areas. You will assist with ADLs, community participation, and behavioral support to help clients live independently.

We offer flexible schedules (full-time and part-time), weekly pay, paid onboarding and training, and opportunities for advancement within a mission-driven company that has operated in the I/DD space for over 20 years.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Valid driver’s license, automotive insurance, and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass criminal, driving, and healthcare registry checks.
• Willingness to address personal care needs when necessary.
• Lifting may be required.
• Experience with individuals with disabilities is not required – paid training provided.

• Build positive relationships and support individuals in achieving personal goals.
• Assist with daily living activities (meal prep, hygiene, household tasks).
• Support community participation, employment, and social activities.
• Use adaptive tools to aid learning and communication.
• Encourage independence and skills development.
• Monitor health and safety while maintaining a supportive environment.
• Communicate with Abound Health team, families, and external parties as needed.
• Complete documentation and maintain schedules.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
