Job summary

Abound Health is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide caregiving and daily living support for individuals with IDD. As a DSP, you will assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), community participation, and behavioral support while helping clients live independently.

Starting pay is $23/hour non-acuity or $33/hour acuity in Cranford, NJ. A $1,000 signing bonus is paid when averaging 20+ hours/week in three installments.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Valid driver’s license, current automotive insurance, and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass criminal record, driving record, and healthcare registry checks.
• Willingness to address personal care needs when necessary.
• Lifting may be required, depending on client needs.

Responsibilities

• Building positive relationships and supporting individuals in achieving personal goals.
• Assisting with daily living activities such as meal preparation, hygiene, and household tasks.
• Supporting individuals in community participation, employment, and social activities.
• Using adaptive tools to aid learning and facilitate communication.
• Encouraging independence and helping individuals develop new skills.
• Monitoring health and safety while maintaining a supportive environment.
• Communicating with Abound team members, families, and external parties (case managers, etc.) as needed.
• Completing documentation and maintaining schedules.
• Completing in ongoing training and professional development.
