Job summary

Abound Health is hiring Direct Support Professionals to provide caregiving and daily living support for individuals with IDD in New Jersey. DSPs assist with ADLs, community participation and behavioral support while helping clients live independently.

If you are compassionate, reliable, and seeking meaningful work, we would love to meet you Starting pay 23/hour for non acuity; 33/hour for acuity; $1,000 signing bonus paid in 3 installments when averaging 20 hours/week.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Valid driver's license, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass criminal record, driving record and healthcare registry checks.
• Willingness to address personal care needs when necessary.
• Lifting may be required depending on client needs.
• Experience with individuals with disabilities is not required; paid training provided.

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships and support individuals in achieving personal goals.
• Assist with daily living activities such as meal preparation, hygiene and household tasks.
• Support individuals in community participation, employment and social activities.
• Use adaptive tools to aid learning and facilitate communication.
• Encourage independence and help individuals develop new skills.
• Monitor health and safety while maintaining a supportive environment.
• Communicate with Abound team members, families and external parties as needed.
• Complete documentation and maintain schedules.
• Complete ongoing training and professional development.
