Job summary

Redwood Family Care Network is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for the Brea area. The role involves assisting adults with physical and developmental disabilities in daily living activities, including meals, personal care, and mobility, within home and community settings.

This part-time position offers a $500 sign-on bonus after 90 days, various benefits, and opportunities for training. Work location includes Brea, CA with walk-in interviews on select days.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities, crisis management, behavior management, and ABA.
• High School Diploma/GED.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have a California Driver’s License.
• Candidates must pass all pre-employment requirements, including a background check.
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) preferred or willing to obtain within the first 6 months of hire.
• Must have First Aid / CPR.

Responsibilities

• Assist adults with physical and developmental disabilities in daily living activities.
• Assist with dietary, hygiene, bathing, grooming and dressing; assist with ADLs including restroom use.
• Outline and prepare daily routines for clients as documented in IPP.
• Support IPP/ISP goals and client needs.
• Maintain a clean, safe, healthy environment for clients.
• Transport clients in a personal vehicle and reimburse mileage.
• Report incidents and communicate with administrators.

Here’s What You’ll Do:

Assist adults with physical and developmental disabilities in their daily lives. Assist with complete care of dietary, hygiene, bathing, grooming and dressing needs, including assisting with restroom and other activities of daily living (ADL’s).

Essential Functions

• Outline and prepare daily routine(s) for clients’ (visual and active) as written in Individual Program Plan.
• Support the needs and goals of each resident by participating in the development of IPP/ISP goals.
• Maintain a clean, safe and healthy environment for the clients.
• Support the needs and goals of each resident by taking them to visit family and friends, to preferred leisure/recreation activities, and encouraging them to socialize among peers.
• Assist clients with personal care such as grooming, bathroom needs, changing clients’ undergarments and/or clothing if needed.
• Prepare daily meals and assist with clean‑up.
• May need to transport clients in personal vehicle and reimbursed for mileage.
• Report any incidents or problems and communicate daily with administrators.
• Perform other duties assigned

Education and Experience:

• 1 year experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities, crisis management, behavior management, and ABA.
• High School Diploma/GED
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have a California Driver’s License.
