Job summary

Redwood Family Care Network in Tustin, CA is seeking a Direct Support Professional to assist adults with developmental disabilities in daily living, including personal care, hygiene, bathing, and meals. The role is part-time with a $18–$20 hourly rate and a $500 sign-on bonus.

You will implement Individual Program Plans (IPP/ISP), help clients achieve daily living goals, keep a clean and safe environment, and assist with transport and documentation.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities, crisis management, behavior management, and ABA.
• Must be at least 21 years old and have a California Driver’s License.
• Background check required before employment.
• CPI certification preferred or willing to obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Outline and prepare daily routine(s) for clients’ (visual and active) as written in IPP.
• Support IPP/ISP goals and encourage socialization and visits with family.
• Maintain a clean, safe and healthy environment for the clients.
• Assist with daily living activities and personal care, including meals.
• May transport clients in a personal vehicle and be reimbursed for mileage.
• Report incidents and communicate daily with administrators.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Here’s What You’ll Do:

Assist adults with physical and developmental disabilities in their daily lives. Assist with complete care of dietary, hygiene, bathing, grooming and dressing needs, including assisting with restroom and other activities of daily living (ADL's).

Essential Functions

• Outline and prepare daily routine(s) for clients’ (visual and active) as written in Individual Program Plan.
• Support the needs and goals of each resident by participating in the development of IPP/ISP goals.
• Maintain a clean, safe and healthy environment for the clients.
• Support the needs and goals of each resident by taking them to visit family and friends, to preferred leisure/recreation activities, and encouraging them to socialize among peers.
• Assist clients with personal care such as grooming, bathroom needs, changing clients’ undergarments and/or clothing if needed.
• Prepare daily meals and assist with clean-up.
• May need to transport clients in personal vehicle and reimbursed for mileage.
• Report any incidents or problems and communicate daily with administers.
• Perform other duties assigned

Education and Experience:

• 1 year experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities, crisis management, behavior management, and ABA.
• High School Diploma/GED
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have a California Driver’s License.
• Candidates must successfully pass all pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to a background check.
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) (Preferred or willing to obtain within the first 6 months of hire).
• Must have First Aid / CPR.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift 50lbs.
• Able to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
