Job summary

Redwood Family Care Network is seeking a Direct Support Professional to assist adults with physical and developmental disabilities in their daily lives in Brea, CA. Hourly wage is $18.00–$20.00, part-time, with a $500 sign-on bonus paid after 90 days. Essential duties include assisting with daily living activities, preparing meals, transporting clients, and supporting IPP/ISP goals.

Must have CA driver’s license and 1 year relevant experience. Walk-ins welcome Tue/Thu 10am–2pm.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities, crisis management, behavior management, and ABA.
• High School Diploma/GED
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have a California Driver's License.
• CPI (Preferred or willing to obtain within the first 6 months of hire).
• Must have First Aid / CPR.

Responsibilities

• Outline and prepare daily routine(s) for clients' (visual and active) as written in IPP/ISP.
• Support the needs and goals of each resident by participating in IPP/ISP goals development.
• Maintain a clean, safe and healthy environment for the clients.
• Take clients to visit family and friends, to leisure activities, and encourage socialization.
• Assist with personal care and dressing as needed.
• Prepare daily meals and assist with clean-up.
• Transport clients in a personal vehicle and track mileage reimbursement.
• Report incidents and communicate daily with administrators.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Here's What You'll Do:

Assist adults with physical and developmental disabilities in their daily lives. Assist with complete care of dietary, hygiene, bathing, grooming and dressing needs, including assisting with restroom and other activities of daily living (ADL's).

Essential Functions

• Outline and prepare daily routine(s) for clients' (visual and active) as written in Individual Program Plan.
• Support the needs and goals of each resident by participating in the development of IPP/ISP goals.
• Maintain a clean, safe and healthy environment for the clients.
• Support the needs and goals of each resident by taking them to visit family and friends, to preferred leisure/recreation activities, and encouraging them to socialize among peers.
• Assist clients with personal care such as grooming, bathroom needs, changing clients' undergarments and/or clothing if needed.
• Prepare daily meals and assist with clean-up.
• May need to transport clients in personal vehicle and reimbursed for mileage.
• Report any incidents or problems and communicate daily with administers.
• Perform other duties assigned

Education and Experience:

• 1 year experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities, crisis management, behavior management, and ABA.
• High School Diploma/GED
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have a California Driver's License.
• Candidates must successfully pass all pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to a background check.
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) (Preferred or willing to obtain within the first 6 months of hire).
• Must have First Aid / CPR.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift 50lbs.
• Able to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
