Job summary

Redwood Family Care Network is hiring a part-time Direct Support Professional in Brea, CA. The role involves assisting adults with developmental disabilities in daily activities, meals, hygiene, and mobility, with shifts AM and PM and a $500 sign-on bonus.

Requirements include at least 1 year experience with DD, a High School Diploma/GED, and a California driver’s license. Background checks are required; training may be provided.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities, crisis management, behavior management, and ABA.

Responsibilities

• Assist adults with physical and developmental disabilities in daily life.
• Assist with complete care of dietary, hygiene, bathing, grooming and dressing needs, including ADLs.
• Outline and prepare daily routines for clients as written in IPP/ISP.
• Transport clients in a personal vehicle and medical mileage reimbursement where applicable.
• Report incidents or problems and communicate daily with administration.

Here’s What You’ll Do

Assist adults with physical and developmental disabilities in their daily lives. Assist with complete care of dietary, hygiene, bathing, grooming and dressing needs, including assisting with restroom and other activities of daily living (ADL's).

Essential Functions

• Outline and prepare daily routine(s) for clients' (visual and active) as written in Individual Program Plan.
• Support the needs and goals of each resident by participating in the development of IPP/ISP goals.
• Maintain a clean, safe and healthy environment for the clients.
• Support the needs and goals of each resident by taking them to visit family and friends, to preferred leisure/recreation activities, and encouraging them to socialize among peers.
• Assist clients with personal care such as grooming, bathroom needs, changing clients' undergarments and/or clothing if needed.
• Prepare daily meals and assist with clean-up.
• May need to transport clients in personal vehicle and reimbursed for mileage.
• Report any incidents or problems and communicate daily with administers.
• Perform other duties assigned

Education and Experience

• 1 year experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities, crisis management, behavior management, and ABA.
• High School Diploma/GED
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have a California Driver’s License.
• Candidates must successfully pass all pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to a background check.
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) (Preferred or willing to obtain within the first 6 months of hire).
• Must have First Aid / CPR.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift 50lbs.
• Able to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
