Job summary

LSS in Minnesota is hiring a Direct Support Professional to support people with identified needs through person-centered care. You will build relationships, assist with daily living activities, and help participants pursue their goals in a residential group home. No formal education required; training provided.

Basic computer use and English literacy are needed. A valid driver’s license and ability to pass a DHS background check required.

Qualifications

• Caregivers or allied roles valued but not required
• No prior education or experience needed; training provided
• English literacy and basic computer use needed
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required
• Able to pass DHS background check is required
• Willingness to participate in orientation and training

Responsibilities

• Build meaningful relationships and provide guidance, encouragement, and support
• Assist with daily living activities including personal care, hygiene, meals, and transportation
• Support community involvement, social connections and independent living skills
• Advocate for rights and preferences of people served
• Monitor health and well-being and report changes promptly
• Complete documentation and participate in training and team meetings
• Work in a residential group home setting supporting up to 4 people
• Collaborate with a mission-driven team focused on dignity, respect and inclusion

Looking for a job where you can make a real difference every day? As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) at LSS, you’ll support people with identified needs as they pursue their hopes, dreams, and goals through person‑centered care.

Pay:

• $17.00/hr!
• Upon completion of six months of consistent employment, there is an opportunity to obtain a wage increase to $17.50/hr!

Shifts:

• 10am-6pm weekdays

What You’ll Do:

• Build meaningful relationships while providing guidance, encouragement, and support
• Assist with daily living activities such as personal care, hygiene needs, meals, household support/cleaning, and transportation
• Support community involvement, social connections, and independent living skills
• Advocate for people with identified needs’ rights, needs, and preferences
• Monitor health and well‑being and report changes as needed
• Complete required documentation and participate in training and team meetings
• Residential group home setting supporting up to 4 people with identified needs
• Collaborative, mission‑driven team focused on dignity, respect, and inclusion
