Job summary

LSS is hiring a Direct Support Professional in Bloomington, MN. You will build relationships, provide guidance, and support daily living activities in a residential group home setting for up to 4 individuals with identified needs. Training is provided and advancement opportunities exist within our team.

Qualifications

• Heart for helping others and a passion for person-centered care.
• No prior experience or formal education required; training provided.
• Comfort with basic computer use to document care and stay connected with the team.
• Ability to read and write in English for clear communication.
• A valid driver’s license and safe driving record; pass a driving check.
• Ability to pass a DHS background check.

Responsibilities

• Build meaningful relationships while providing guidance, encouragement, and support.
• Assist with daily living activities including personal care, hygiene, meals, cleaning, and transportation.
• Support community involvement, social connections, and independent living skills.
• Advocate for people’s rights, needs, and preferences.
• Monitor health and well-being and report changes; complete required documentation and training.
• Residential group home setting supporting up to 4 people with identified needs.

Looking for a job where you can make a real difference every day? As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) at LSS, you’ll support people with identified needs as they pursue their hopes, dreams, and goals through person‑centered care.

Pay:

• $17.00/hr!
• Upon completion of six months of consistent employment, there is an opportunity to obtain a wage increase to $17.50/hr!

Shifts:

• S/S 2-10, M4-10, T 2-10, Th4-10, M2-10, T/T/Th4-10,
• S/S 4-10, M 2-10, T/W/F 4-10; M4-10, T 2-10, F 12-10
• S/S 8-2, W/Th 8-2; W/Th 8-2
• S/S 8-4, T/F 8-2; T 8-4, F 8-12

What You’ll Do:

• Build meaningful relationships while providing guidance, encouragement, and support

• Advocate for people with identified needs’ rights, needs, and preferences
