Sun Realty seeks a Drywall & Painting Technician to maintain vacation homes on the Outer Banks. This full-time, year-round role offers steady, year-round work and competitive compensation. Drywall & Painting Technician— Sun Realty

Outer Banks, NC | Full-Time, Year-Round | $47,840-56,160/year (based on experience)

Sun Realty has managed vacation homes on the Outer Banks for over 46 years. We're hiring a Drywall & Painting Technician to keep our homeowners' properties in top shape and our guests' stays problem-free.

What you'll do

• Provide estimates and complete work orders for drywall & painting jobs.
• Apply/repair drywall finishes (knock-down, flat, orange peel), wallpaper, and trim/door finishes.
• Work with various paints, stains, and finishes.
• Perform basic general maintenance as needed.

What we're looking for

• 2+ years of experience with drywall finishing, wallpaper, and paint/stain applications.
• Basic carpentry skills (advanced carpentry or drywall/finishing experience a plus).
• A valid driver's license, held for 3+ years, with a favorable driving record.

Schedule

This role includes weekend and holiday shifts, with occasional seasonal overtime, rotating after-hours shifts (additional pay) — vacation properties don't take weekends off, and neither do we. In exchange, you'll get:

The physical side of the job

You’ll be on your feet, climbing ladders and stairs, working in attics and crawl spaces, and lifting up to 50–85+ lbs. You’ll also be driving between properties in all kinds of weather. If you’re comfortable with hands-on physical work outdoors and don’t mind a fast pace, you’ll fit right in.

Requirements

Physical/Mental Demands: Hearing, speaking, seeing, walking, standing, sitting, driving, reaching bending climbing steps/ladders, and lifting 50-85+ pounds; reading, comprehension, legible writing skills and effective written and verbal communication in the English language.

Machines/Equipment: A valid, active driver’s license for a minimum of 3 years (clean MVR); the operation of basic tools and equipment; smart phone or similar electronic device.

Work Environment: Exposed to outside weather conditions, fast paced, physically strenuous; working in attics or crawl spaces; climbing flights of steps inside and out; maneuvering a vehicle in congested traffic.
