Position Summary

We are seeking a Drywall Estimator/Project Manager with 5+ years of experience to manage projects from initial bid through final closeout. This hybrid role prepares accurate estimates, secures work, and oversees awarded projects to ensure they are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contract documents. The position requires strong technical knowledge of drywall, metal framing, taping, and related systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for drywall, metal framing, taping, and accessories.
• Prepare accurate labor and material cost estimates.
• Solicit, review, and analyze vendor and supplier pricing.
• Identify scope gaps, exclusions, and risks.
• Prepare bid proposals, alternates, clarifications, and value engineering options.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site walks.
• Maintain organized estimating files and historical cost data.

Project Management Duties

• Manage projects from award through completion.
• Review contracts and ensure scope alignment with estimate.
• Develop and maintain project schedules and manpower plans.
• Prepare and manage project budgets, cost tracking, and forecasting.
• Procure materials and coordinate deliveries.
• Manage change orders, including pricing, submissions, and negotiations.
• Coordinate with field supervisors and foremen.
• Attend project meetings and jobsite coordination meetings.
• Track RFIs, submittals, and project documentation.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and contract requirements.
• Oversee project closeout including punch lists, warranties, and final billing.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in drywall estimating and/or project management.
• Strong knowledge of drywall systems, metal framing, taping, and construction sequencing.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency with estimating and project management software (On-Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam, WinBid, Plexxis, Building Connected, Procore) and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple bids and projects simultaneously.

• Experience with commercial, multifamily drywall, prevailing wage, and affordable housing projects.
• Familiarity with Procore or similar construction management platforms.
• Knowledge of fire-rated and acoustical assemblies.
• Experience with union labor environments.
• Ability to assist with scheduling, manpower planning, and job cost analysis.
