Job summary

Carnival Cruise Line in South Florida seeks a Project Manager to lead dry dock and vessel maintenance projects. You will manage schedules, budgets, logistics, and coordinate with shipyards, vendors, and internal teams to ensure timely and compliant delivery.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in engineering and strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with travel 25-50% and office-based in the Miami area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Marine/Mechanical/Industrial Engineering, Naval Architecture or equivalent degree/experience.
• Fully conversant in usual IT software (office, project, AutoCAD, dry dock specific software).
• Able to find solutions and initiatives to solve technical issues at the safest, economical and fastest way, according to Flag, Class, ISM, ISPS, etc., rules.
• Able to coordinate a complex dry dock / repair process in cooperation with the vessels’ superintendents / shipyard / sub-contractors / crew / company.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and coordinate activities in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Manages dry-dock master schedule (3-5 dry docks per year) by developing and updating the schedule, coordinating information from all departments, and monitoring performance against budget baselines.
• Resolve scheduling conflicts, assess risks, and implement corrective actions to minimize impact on dry dock delivery.
• Conducts dry-dock planning meetings as a liaison between stakeholders and contractors.
• Facilitate communication and produce progress reports and reviews for management.
• Coordinate with shipyards, vendors, and stakeholders on logistics, specifications, and progress, with daily reports during execution.
• Advise in contract negotiations and perform onsite inspections to ensure quality and timely work.
• Ensure projects adhere to policies, procedures, and regulatory codes.
• Serve as Project Manager for mid to large technical and refit projects and underwater hull maintenance.
