Job summary

Abzena, a leading bioconjugation and process development partner in the biopharma space, seeks an experienced leader to drive end-to-end bioconjugation programs. You will guide development strategies, DoE-driven experiments, and technology transfer from bench to manufacturing scale.

You will lead a team of scientists, coordinate with Analytical Services, MSAT, Quality, and Regulatory Affairs, and ensure readiness for GMP manufacturing with data-driven decisions and strong collaboration.

Qualifications

• Strong communication, conflict-resolution, prioritization, and decision-making skills.
• Hands-on experience with conjugation process development and scale-up.
• Knowledge of DoE, data analysis, and process characterization.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach direct reports including principal scientists and staff.
• Plan resources across programs balancing customer commitments and capacity.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver integrated program outcomes.
• Drive technology transfer, scale-up, and manufacturing support.
• Provide scientific direction for robust, reproducible processes.
• Ensure compliant documentation, data integrity, and safety practices.

Education

PhD in Chemistry or related field

MS with 12+ years experience
