Job summary

Belcan is seeking a Field Service Engineer in Philadelphia, PA, to perform in-depth system-level investigations for the Prime Air Drone system and ensure high reliability in drone operations. You will troubleshoot in-field issues, support new site deployments, and collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to drive improvements.

The role requires a strong mechanical/electrical/software background, excellent communication, and willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.

Qualifications

• BSc/MSc in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or equivalent.
• Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems.
• Experience scripting in modern program languages.
• Experience in project management.
• Strong communication and writing skills.
• Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Deep-dive daily system-level investigations for the Prime Air Drone system at our operations sites, driving reliability improvements.
• Troubleshoot drone issues observed in operations and rapidly return drones to service.
• Support new drone delivery sites by provisioning equipment, programming check flights, and verifying nominal performance before start of operations.
• Collaborate with design engineering and service engineering staff to provide analyses and solutions for reliability and performance.
• Translate complex system functions into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders at all levels.
