Job summary

Amazon Prime Air seeks a Hardware Development Engineer III to lead End of Line Test System design for the MK30 drone program. You will own hardware acceptance test procedures, drive integration across manufacturing, test software, and production teams, and mentor junior engineers to improve reliability and throughput.

You will collaborate with cross-functional partners, balance performance and cost, and push for scalable solutions that meet aggressive production goals in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of engineering experience.
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team, or with hardware troubleshooting.
  • Experience in 3D CAD.
  • Experience using test instrumentation, data-acquisition systems, and analysis tools to troubleshoot failure mechanisms.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Drone End of Line Test Systems design and development.
  • Drive Acceptance Test Procedure Development & Documentation.
  • Hardware Integration & Troubleshooting.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration with production, drone systems/subsystems and drone and test system software teams.
  • Respond to manufacturing floor escalations (drone test failures, hardware anomalies).
  • Contribute to design reviews, providing constructive technical feedback to teammates and cross-functional partners.
  • Identify risks and defects early in the design phase and proactively propose solutions that balance performance, cost, and schedule.
  • Improve team processes, tools, and methodologies; develop automation that aid Drone manufacturing and testing.
