Job summary

Amazon's Prime Air team seeks a Propulsion Hardware Engineer to help scale the electrical propulsion system for drones, working across lab testing and production to implement corrective actions and workflows.

You will analyze root causes, troubleshoot interfaces, manage lab resources, and coordinate with supply chain and vendors to drive long-term hardware solutions and production readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience troubleshooting issues and root cause analysis.
• Experience managing lab resources, equipment, and supplies.
• Experience in production or post production processes and facilities.
• Experience with product level validation testing (Thermal, EMC/EMI, Shock, Cycle Testing, etc.).
• Experience in root cause analysis and error correction, identifying changes to procedures and systems to implement long-term fixes and avoid repeating issues.
• Experience testing hardware/mechanical sub-components, research and data analysis skills, and/or Printed Circuit Board (PCB) layout best practices.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting with hardware/software interfaces.
• Root cause analysis on hardware failures across the electrical propulsion subsystem.
• Providing corrective actions.
• Implementing changes in production-level hardware/software.
• Developing GUIs/workflows to help streamline hardware defect tracking.
