Job summary

Service Robot Co. seeks a field technician to install, maintain, and repair drones and their docking and charging stations at customer sites in Ventura, CA. You will work on-site under a contract paid per work order, handling faults, repairs, and routine maintenance.

The role requires hands-on electronics skills, willingness to travel, and the ability to work outdoors. Training will be provided, with paid first assignment and remote support from specialists.

Qualifications

• Experience with electronics repair, RC or FPV drone building, avionics, low-voltage systems, or similar hands-on work.
• Patience with small parts and precise repairs.
• A methodical approach to finding faults.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults in drones, docks, and charging systems.
• Repair or replace propellers, motors, electronic speed controllers, batteries, gimbals, and cameras.
• Update firmware and calibrate equipment.
• Complete scheduled maintenance and inspections.
• Follow lithium battery procedures for storage, charging, transport, and disposal.
• Record faults, repairs, replacement parts, and follow-up work.
• Keep spare parts available and report recurring problems.
• Explain repairs and next steps to customers.

Training

You will complete an online course through our Service Robot Co. Academy, followed by in-person training and the industry certifications needed for this role. The Academy is certificate training that we subsidize. Your first job is paid, with a specialist supporting you remotely.
