Job summary

Wing is seeking a Software Engineer Intern to join our Commerce Team in Palo Alto, CA, for a 12-week paid summer internship. This hybrid, in-person program is based in Palo Alto with start dates in May or June, and is open to current students who plan to return after the internship.

You’ll design, build, and maintain scalable APIs and backend services, gain hands-on experience with cloud-native microservices, and collaborate with a distributed engineering team delivering drone logistics

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Hands-on programming experience with one or more core languages such as Java, C++, Python, or Go.
• Solid understanding of software engineering principles and API development concepts.
• Ability to identify problems, devise solutions with mentorship, and drive tasks to completion.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with a collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and support scalable APIs, backend services, and user interfaces connecting partners with end-users.
• Work with production-grade cloud technologies, microservices architectures, and modern development tools.
• Gain hands-on experience across the full end-to-end software development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with a distributed engineering team delivering drone logistics solutions.
• Develop deep industry expertise at the leading edge of commercial drone delivery.
