Job summary

Wing is seeking a Simulation Engineer Intern in Palo Alto, CA, to join the Simulation & Evaluation Team. This 12-week paid summer internship is hybrid and in-person, based in Palo Alto, with May or June start, open to current students returning after the program.

You will work on tools for development, testing, and deployment of features, including vehicle physics, sensor modeling, and RL-based flight autonomy, collaborating across Simulation, Perception, and GNC teams.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in a relevant field with expected graduation between 2027 and 2028.
• Strong engineering project experience from internships or academic/extracurricular work.
• Solid grasp of dynamical systems, linear algebra, 3D geometry, and vision-based autonomy.
• Experience with C++ and/or Python.
• Experience with numerical libraries (NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, MATLAB or R) to analyze real-world data.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Explore new ways to use flight data to validate flight software.
• Build closed-loop simulation environments using real flight telemetry for RL-based evaluation.
• Leverage large-scale simulation and data pipelines to run experiments and gain insights.
• Contribute to a team focused on mentorship and growth while scaling operations.
