Job summary

BorgWarner Drivetrain and Morse Systems (DMS) seeks an Engineering Project Manager to lead development and launch of drivetrain systems at the Propulsion Technical Center (PTC) in Auburn Hills, MI. You will be the primary technical interface to customers and to Program Management and Sales, guiding cross-functional teams through pursuit, development, launch, and post-production support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering required; Mechanical Engineering degree preferred.
• Typically, 5 to 8 years of automotive engineering, systems engineering, or technical project management experience.
• Strong mechanical product development experience with drivetrain systems preferred.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional teams without direct reporting authority.
• Working knowledge of software-controlled and electronically actuated systems desirable.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical interface to the customer for assigned drivetrain programs.
• Lead cross-functional technical product development activities for mechanical drivetrain products (transfer cases and axle disconnect systems).
• Coordinate engineering activities across mechanical design, systems, software, electrical hardware, validation, manufacturing, quality, purchasing, and suppliers.
• Develop, maintain, and communicate project timing, deliverables, risks, issues, and open actions.
• Provide change management and problem-resolution leadership for technical changes and issues.
• Prepare and present clear project status and technical summaries to leadership and customers.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to improve engineering execution and launch readiness.
