Job summary

U.S. Xpress in Dallas, TX is seeking a Driver Development Specialist to deliver driver training and development across the driver population. The role includes classroom, one-on-one, and hands-on instruction in a structured learning environment.

Responsibilities include conducting on-road tests, maintaining training records, and coaching drivers with Operations and Safety to ensure DOT compliance and safe practices. Remote work is not available for this role.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in training/development delivery.
• 3+ years of OTR(Class A CDL) experience preferred.
• Experience as third-party tester or CVTA Master Level Instructor preferred.
• Transportation, Logistics, and/or Tech industry experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver driver training in classroom, one-on-one, and hands-on settings.
• Use diverse instructional methods including role-play and simulations.
• Maintain records of attendance, completions, and evaluations.
• Coach drivers in collaboration with Operations and Safety on DOT/FMSCR policies.
• Conduct on-road tests and assessments for driver competence.
