Job summary

U.S. Xpress is seeking a Driver Development Specialist to deliver comprehensive driver training across orientation programs. You will conduct classroom, one-on-one, and hands-on sessions, using role-plays, simulations, and videos to enhance learning.

Strong focus on safety, DOT regulations, and performance coaching will be essential. The role requires 3+ years in training, CDL-A OTR experience is a plus, and you will work with various tools including simulators and LMS for program development

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 3+ years in training/development delivery.
• OTR experience with CDL-A preferred.
• Experience with driver training programs and safety.
• Proficient with learning management systems and simulators.

Responsibilities

• Deliver driver training in classroom, one-on-one, and hands-on settings.
• Utilize diverse instructional techniques (role-play, simulations, videos).
• Facilitate simulator training and improve content.
• Maintain training records and evaluate learner progress.
• Collaborate with Safety and Operations on DOT compliance.
• Lead regular in-person and remote training sessions.
