Job summary

U.S. Xpress in Dallas, TX is seeking a Driver Development Specialist to deliver training to the driver population. The role involves classroom, one-on-one, and hands-on instruction, in compliance with DOT and company standards.

You will develop and implement simulator training, track attendance and outcomes, and coach drivers, collaborating with Operations and Safety. A strong background in driver training and at least 3 years of training delivery, plus CDL experience, is preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED; Bachelor's preferred.
• 3+ years in training/development delivery.
• 3+ years OTR (Class A CDL) experience preferred.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Deliver driver training in classroom, one-on-one, and hands-on settings.
• Present information using diverse instructional techniques and formats.
• Facilitate simulator training and improve content with feedback.
• Coach and counsel drivers with Operations and Safety on regulations.
• Maintain records of attendance, completions and evaluations.
• Conduct on-road tests to ensure safety and compliance.
