Job summary

Red White & Blue Thrift Store is seeking a Head Driver in Bradenton, FL to support transportation operations at the assigned location. You will coordinate with Transportation Supervisors to optimize routing, manage trucks and equipment, and provide driver training support while maintaining strong safety standards.

This role acts as a peer liaison between management and drivers, communicating directives, relaying updates, and ensuring operational alignment without supervisory authority.

Qualifications

• Experience with systems overseeing routing, tracking, and management of trailers and fleet maintenance; Microsoft Office knowledge preferred.
• Valid driver\'s license and clean driving record; ability to pass a motor vehicle records check.
• Ability to operate a box truck safely and efficiently; knowledge of traffic laws for large vehicles.
• Independence and adherence to a set schedule; ability to work without direct supervision.
• Ability to maneuver the truck in tight spaces and handle donations.
• Schedule flexibility to accommodate changing pickup routes.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Transportation Supervisor’s point of contact; observe operations and relay information.
• Safely operate and oversee vehicles and equipment, ensuring adherence to traffic rules and safety regulations.
• Model expected behaviors and proactively address team needs and operational demands.
• Communicate effectively with driver teams and supervisors to ensure clear expectations and updates.
• Develop driver teams through coaching and training; identify training needs.
• Oversee and optimize driver routing; resolve route-related issues and optimize trailer loading/unloading.
• Coordinate daily transportation activities including donor service, fleet maintenance, and store deliveries.
• Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections to ensure safety guidelines are followed.
• Complete pickup routes as needed and support other responsibilities to meet goals.
• Maintain understanding of company goals and communicate these to team members and donors.
• Attend required training sessions and meetings to stay updated on policies.
