Job summary

Maryland Department of Transportation's Motor Vehicle Administration is seeking a Driver Skills Test Examiner (Driver License Agent I) for part-time vacancies in the Oakland Branch. This entry-level role tests applicants, conducts license examinations, and administers vision and knowledge tests to determine fitness for driver licenses.

Ideal candidates show a passion for excellent customer service, can work in a fast-paced environment, and possess problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

Education: Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: One (1) year of customer service work experience.
Customer service must be the primary function of your position to receive work experience credit.

Responsibilities

Testing applicants on knowledge of State laws governing motor vehicle operation using standard procedures.
Conducting standard driver’s license tests at various offices to assess fitness for licenses.
Administering vision screening and knowledge tests per standard procedures.
Recording all pertinent information via forms and automated systems.
Deciding whether an individual has qualified on the examination.
Working outdoors in all types of weather.
