Job summary

MTM Transit is hiring Full Time Drivers to operate ADA Paratransit, Shop & Ride, and Fixed Regional routes in Salem, OR. Training classes start every other week, with a focus on safety, service, and community impact.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be 21+ years old.
• Valid Oregon Class B CDL with air brake and passenger endorsement or ability to obtain.
• Valid U.S. Driver's License for the past 5 years.
• No more than five moving violations in three years.
• No more than two at-fault or chargeable accidents in the past five years.
• No suspension or revocations of driving privileges within the past five years.
• No felony, drug or alcohol conviction in the last 10 years.
• No DWI/DUI convictions in the last 10 years.
• Must pass DOT physical and pre-employment drug/alcohol screening.
• Background check and Motor Vehicle record check required.
• Valid authorization to work in the United States.
• Resume with a minimum of 10 years work history.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and reliable transportation.
• Demonstrate excellent defensive driving skills.
• Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
• Assist with passenger loading and unloading from the vehicle.
• Assist with mobility device and securement as required for safety protocols.
• Ensure on-time pick-up and drop-off of passengers.
• Demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of older adults and individuals with disabilities.
• Complete vehicle pre-trip, post-trip, and DVI inspections as required.
• Complete paperwork as required.
• Utilize tablets or electronic devices as required.

What you'll need:

• Experience, Education & Certifications:
• High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Must possess a valid Oregon Class B CDL with an air brake & passenger endorsement or ability to obtain
• Valid U.S. Driver's License for the past 5 years
• No more than five (5) moving violations in three (3) years
• No more than two (2) at-fault or chargeable accidents in the past five (5) years
• No suspension or revocations of driving privileges within the past (5) years (This does not pertain to any commercial or CDL downgrades.)
• No conviction in the last 10 years of: a felony, drug and alcohol offense. Reckless driving, hit & run, leaving the scene of an accident, negligent driving, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, vehicular assault or homicide.
• No DWI/DUI convictions in the last 10 years
• Must be able to pass DOT physical and pre-employment drug/alcohol screening
• Must pass criminal background check investigation & Motor Vehicle record check
• Valid authorization to work in the United States
• Must provide a resume with a minimum of 10 years work history

Skills:

• Ability to use a tablet, GPS, two-way radio, or other electronic device
• Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality
• Ability to communicate with others and comprehend instructions
• Ability to understand highway traffic signs, signals, maps, manifests, and schedules
• Ability to obtain knowledge of FTA, ADA, and DOT regulations
• Familiarity with the main roadways and major highways in the service area

What You'll Do:

• Provide safe and reliable transportation
• Demonstrate excellent defensive driving skills
