Job summary

MTM Transit in partnership with Redding Area Bus Authority (RABA) seeks full-time and part-time drivers to join our team in Redding, CA. Location: 3333 South Market Street Redding, CA 96001. Shifts run 4:30am–10:30pm with 35–40+ hours per week after training.

We offer competitive hourly rates ($25.00/hr during/after training) and benefits including medical, dental, and vision, with paid training, overtime, holidays, PTO, and a 401(k) with company match. Internal growth opportunities available.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
  • Must be 21 years or older.
  • 3 years valid U.S. Driver's License driving experience.
  • Class B-P license endorsed for air brakes and passenger transport (CA) OR ability to obtain.
  • No reckless driving in past 7 years.
  • No DUI or DWI convictions.
  • No more than 3 moving violations or accidents in last 3 years.
  • No violent criminal history.
  • If license revoked, 3 years post-reinstatement with no violations.
  • Authorized to work in CA and US.
  • Pass DOT physical and pre-employment drug screen.
  • Pass criminal background check and MVR check.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe and reliable transportation.
  • Demonstrate defensive driving skills.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist with passenger loading and unloading from vehicle.
  • Assist with mobility device and securement as required.
  • Ensure on-time pick-up and drop-off of the customer.
  • Be sensitive to needs of older adults and individuals with disabilities.
  • Complete pre-trip, post-trip, and DV I inspections as required.
  • Complete paperwork as required.
  • Use tablets or electronic devices as required.

What will your job look like?

MTM Transit in partnership with Redding Area Bus Authority (RABA) is looking for Full-Time and Part-Time drivers to join our team in Redding, CA. Location: 3333 South Market Street Redding, CA 96001 Shift: Candidates must available 7 days a week. Operations runs from 4:30am-10:30pm. Shifts will be assigned after training is completed and are expected to be 35-40+ hours per week.

What You’ll Need:
  • Experience, Education & Certifications:
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
  • Must be 21 years or older
  • Must have 3 years valid U.S. Driver's License driving experience
  • Valid Class B-P (endorsed for air brakes and passenger transport) driver’s license issued by the State of California OR ability to obtain
  • No Reckless driving in the past 7 years
  • No DUI or DWI convictions
  • No more than 3 moving violations or accidents within last 3 years
  • No history of violent criminal (felony or misdemeanor) convictions
  • In the event that your license has been previously revoked, you must have at least 3 full subsequent years post reinstatement with no violations
  • Possess valid authorization to work in the State of California and the United States
  • Must be able to pass DOT physical and pre-employment drug screening
  • Must pass criminal background check investigation & Motor Vehicle Record check
  • Skills:
  • Ability to use a tablet, GPS, two-way radio, or other electronic device
  • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality
  • Ability to be certified in First Aid, AED, and CPR.
  • Ability to adhere to RABA’s Operator dress code
  • Ability to communicate with others and comprehend instructions
  • Ability to understand highway traffic signs, signals, maps, manifests, and schedules
  • Ability to obtain knowledge of FTA, ADA, and DOT regulations
  • Familiarity with the main roadways and major highways in the service area
  • Ability to obtain the General Public Paratransit Vehicle Certification (GPPV), complete the verification of Transit Training (VTT), and be registered with the California DMV Employer Pull Notice (EPN) program, before operating any RABA vehicle
  • Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently
What You’ll Do:
  • Provide safe and reliable transportation
  • Demonstrate excellent defensive driving skills
  • Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Must assist with passenger loading and unloading from vehicle
  • Must assist with any mobility device and securement as required for safety protocols
  • Ensure the on-time pick-up and drop off of the customer
  • Demonstrates understanding and sensitivity to the needs of older adults and individuals with disabilities
  • Complete thorough vehicle pre-trip, post-trip, and DVI inspections as required
  • Complete paperwork as required
  • Utilize tablets or electronic devices as required
