Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Driver Manager to serve as the primary liaison between the company and its professional drivers, ensuring operational efficiency, driver satisfaction, and policy compliance to achieve enterprise goals.

The role oversees a fleet of drivers, monitors performance, safety, and productivity, and collaborates with Planners, CSRs, and Load Planners to optimize routes and load assignments. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Associates or bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transportation, or Business Administration preferred.
• Experience managing drivers in mid-to-large trucking operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build strong relationships with drivers and understand their goals.
• Monitor driver performance metrics (revenue, miles per week, MPG, on-time delivery, safety).
• Provide coaching and feedback; initiate disciplinary actions when necessary.
• Ensure drivers have clear weekly plans and load assignments.
• Maintain compliance with safety and DOT regulations; work with Safety and Maintenance teams.
