Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in transportation.
• Strong attention to detail and sense of urgency.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to learn and regularly operate various computer systems across different platforms.
• Ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships with customers and Penske associates.
• Ability to use critical thinking to analyze information and make decisions within SOP.
• Willingness to work First, Second and Third shifts; flexibility with scheduling.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is essential.
• Willingness to travel as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage dispatch system for 25+ Drivers (ETA/PTA, load assignments, utilization).
• Manage vacations, time off and payroll inquiries.
• Train and counsel drivers, onboarding on policies and expectations (HOS, safety, utilization).
• Coordinate with Penske Truck Leasing for vehicle maintenance.
• Communicate with Load Planning and Customer Service to meet needs.
• Support Penske’s Quality System and its objectives.
• Other projects and tasks as assigned.
