Job summary

Mead Lumber in Liberal, Kansas is seeking a reliable Delivery Driver to ensure timely and safe delivery of materials to customer jobsites. This role includes operating company vehicles, unloading products, and maintaining a clean working environment.

Job Summary

Primary responsibility is to drive company vehicles to deliver merchandise to customer jobsites and physically unload the materials to the customer's satisfaction. Additional duties include receiving and unloading vendor deliveries, stocking and organizing materials, labeling and tracking special‑order materials, and maintaining overall yard cleanliness and organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Learn company products, procedures, culture, and customer service philosophy.
• Load trucks according to the list of materials on the sales invoice.
• Deliver and unload materials to customer’s satisfaction and on a timely basis.
• Maintain inspection of each vehicle you drive for safe driving.
• Accurately record all merchandise returns on a credit memo.
• Listen and work with customers to solve customer needs.
• Maintain a clean working environment.
• Organize, label, store materials in accordance with protocols.
• Perform duties in ALL types of weather conditions.
• Other tasks as assigned.

Desired Skills, Knowledge, And Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and a good driving record. CDL is a plus!
• Must have a valid drivers license.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Desire to learn and grow professionally.
• Ability to react quickly to problems and respond to them accurately and professionally.
• Ability to stand/walk for 4 -10 hours daily.
• Self‑motivated and organized.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Physical strength to lift and carry 50+ pounds at times.
• Ability to stoop, kneel and crouch.
• Prior building materials knowledge preferred.
• Strong verbal skills and computer skills.
• Must be reliable, punctual, team‑oriented, and flexible.
