Job summary

MTM Transit, in partnership with the City of Manteca, California, seeks Full Time CDL Drivers to join our team in Manteca. Training classes start regularly, and you will contribute to safe, reliable transportation for the community.

We offer competitive pay at $27 per hour, medical/dental/vision benefits, paid training and overtime, holidays and PTO, 401(k) with company match, and strong opportunities for internal career growth.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 21+ years old or older.
• Valid California CDL Class B/A with Air Brake & Passenger Endorsements.
• Minimum of 3 years driving history.
• No DWI/DUI convictions in the last 10 years.
• Criminal background and MVR checks required.
• No more than 4 points in 12 months, 6 points in 24 months, or 8 points in 36 months.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Resume with at least 10 years of work history.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and reliable transportation.
• Demonstrate excellent defensive driving skills.
• Deliver outstanding customer service to stakeholders.
• Assist with passenger loading and unloading.
• Assist with mobility device handling and safety.
• Ensure on-time pickup and drop-off for customers.
• Be mindful of needs of older adults and individuals with disabilities.
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections; document as required.
• Complete paperwork and use tablets or electronic devices as required.

What You’ll need:

Experience, Education & Certifications:

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Must possess a valid California CDL Class B/A with Air Brake & Passenger Endorsements
• Must have a minimum of 3 years driving history
• No DWI/DUI convictions in the last 10 years
• Must pass criminal background check investigation & Motor Vehicle record check
• No more than 4 pts in 12 months, 6 pts in 24 months or 8 pts in 36 months
• Valid authorization to work in the United States
• Must provide a resume with a minimum of 10 years work history

Skills:

• Ability to use a tablet, GPS, two-way radio, or other electronic device
• Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality
• Ability to communicate with others and comprehend instructions
• Ability to understand highway traffic signs, signals, maps, manifests, and schedules
• Ability to obtain knowledge of FTA, ADA, and DOT regulations
• Familiarity with the main roadways and major highways in the service area

What You’ll Do:

• Provide safe and reliable transportation
• Demonstrate excellent defensive driving skills
• Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders
• Must assist with passenger loading and unloading from vehicle
• Must assist with any mobility device and securement as required for safety protocols
• Ensure the on-time pick-up and drop off of the customer
• Demonstrates understanding and sensitivity to the needs of older adults and individuals with disabilities
• Complete thorough vehicle pre-trip, post-trip, and DVI inspections as required
• Complete paperwork as required
• Utilize tablets or electronic devices as required
