Job summary

Day & Ross seeks a Driver Manager in Charlotte, NC, to oversee a fleet and ensure safe, on-time delivery while maximizing driver productivity and retention. This role reports to the Operations Team and will focus on policy adherence, performance improvement, and strong driver relations.

The successful candidate will manage loads, utilize ELD and TMS systems, and coordinate recovery plans to meet delivery goals. A logistics background and transportation knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school Diploma or GED, with logistics experience preferred.
• 4-year college degree preferred.
• Knowledge and experience in transportation is required.
• TMS System software expertise preferred.

• Ensure driver success through relationship building, effective communication, positive recognition and timely addressing of issues (performance and personal related).
• Provide complete load information, including routing and directions to ensure drivers are fully prepared for work assignment.
• Utilize various tools in the ELD System and TMS System systems per company processes and procedures.
• Monitor critical loads, be able to determine when a recovery plan is needed and be able to execute plan to ensure on-time delivery or to achieve other objectives.

Driver Manager

The Driver Manager is a member of the Day & Ross Operations Team. The role requires driver managers to ensure safe, on-time delivery for various customers, while maximizing the productivity and profitability of an assigned fleet of drivers and trucks. Driver Managers are also responsible for creating a positive quality of work for drivers and provide safe and effective driver management to enhance driver retention. Lastly, they insure driver adherence to company policy and procedures.
