Job summary

CAMBA in New York City seeks a Driver/Maintenance worker for CAMBA’s Kings Inn Family Shelter in Queens. The role covers vehicle inspections, basic maintenance, safety compliance, and assisting clients to appointments, while maintaining confidentiality and following all policies.

Responsibilities include handling cleaning tasks, reporting issues, and supporting residents and staff in a respectful, safe environment. Full-time position with benefits available.

Qualifications

• Sufficient education and technical expertise to comprehend work orders and complete maintenance tasks.
• Ability to document accomplished tasks clearly and timely.

Responsibilities

• Maintain professional relationships with clients and ensure confidentiality.
• Identify and document maintenance issues on work orders.
• Complete daily pre-trip vehicle inspections before first trip of the day.
• Assist passengers needing help entering and exiting the vehicle.
• Transport trash, recyclables and waste to disposal areas as needed.
• May perform minor plumbing and electrical repairs.
• May escort clients to appointments.
