Job summary

State of New Hampshire, Department of Safety, Division of Motor Vehicles, Bureau of Operations, Salem, NH seeks a Driver Licensing Examiner I to administer driving tests and issue operator and motorcycle licences. The role requires valid driver’s license, 21+ age, and the ability to travel within the state.

Salary ranges $17.81–$23.39 per hour with a trainee option at $17.19 per hour, full-time, 40 hours/week, non-exempt, in Salem.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience: Equivalent combination of 2 years of education and experience after completion of high school.
• Education and experience must be in instruction, training, customer service, driving work or related field.

Responsibilities

• Administers driving skills examinations and tests to applicants to issue driver licences and IDs.
• Qualifies or disqualifies applicants based on driving skills examinations and traffic laws.
• Reviews applicant documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Answers questions at the counter and over the phone regarding licensing rules and procedures.
• Provides support to clerks by operating DMV computer systems and processing signatures.
