Job summary

Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is seeking a Driver License Examiner to evaluate applicants and deliver courteous, accurate testing services at the Driver License Center. The role emphasizes customer guidance on renewals, transfers, and specialty licenses while upholding Real ID policies and safety standards.

Work hours are 8:15 AM to 4:45 PM, Tuesday–Saturday, with travel to other centers when needed.

Qualifications

• One year of experience as a Driver License Examiner Assistant or two years of experience obtaining, evaluating, and providing information to the public.
• Active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C driver’s license and twenty-one years of age at the time of application; no suspensions or revocations in the past five years; must obtain Class M license within six months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assess driving ability, physical qualifications, and vision results.
• Inspect vehicles for mechanical readiness and proper equipment.
• Review identity, residency, and citizenship records for authenticity.
• Complete applications, test results, and issue license products.
• Provide guidance on renewals, transfers, and specialty license requirements.
• Follow all policies for customer service, REAL ID, fee waivers, and Title VI.
