Job summary

The Driver License Division is seeking a Driver License Examiner to join our Logan office. This full-time, in-office role involves interviewing applicants, administering tests, issuing licenses, and interpreting driving regulations. Strong customer service and accuracy are essential, with priorities on safety and public service in Utah.

Qualifications

Customer service skills in person and over the phone.
Cash handling and register reconciliation experience.
Data entry skills and related work experience.
Experience handling private/confidential information.
Must have a valid Utah driver license and a good driving record.

Responsibilities

Collect and review client information and read records to determine eligibility.
Administer written and driving tests and document results.
Communicate test findings, evaluate results, and make recommendations.
Issue licenses, permits, registrations, and related documents.
Explain state code, policy, and procedures to applicants clearly.
Determine when licenses are eligible for reinstatement and steps to reinstate.
Assess if further medical information is needed before issuing licenses.
Interact with the public in a respectful manner.
