Job summary

Ohio Department of Public Safety - Bureau of Motor Vehicles/Driver Exam Services/District 6 Morse Rd. is seeking a Driver License Examiner 1 to conduct road tests, instruct applicants, administer license exams and enter data into BMV systems.

Candidates must meet basic arithmetic education, have a period of public relations exposure, and be at least 21 years old. This on-site position offers regular hours, an opportunity to join the state service, and a chance to advance with pay increases over

Qualifications

Formal education in arithmetic including fractions, decimals and percentages.
AND 1 course or 3 mos. exp. in human/public relations, valid Ohio Class 'D' Driver License.
AND must be 21 years of age per Section 4507.05 (A) (2) (B).
Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.

Responsibilities

Conducts examination of applicants for vehicle operator's license by accompanying applicant in vehicle during road testing.
Instructs applicant in maneuvers to be performed during testing.
Administers driving tests to applicants for various license classes and endorsements.
Evaluates and grades applicant's ability to drive.
Inputs applicant information into BMV computer systems and administers knowledge tests.
