Job summary

Fastenal Distribution Center in Jessup, PA is seeking a Part-Time Driver (DOT-Class A CDL) to deliver from the distribution center to branches and customer on-site locations. You will operate a late-model tractor trailer or straight truck, with routes typically 10–12 stops.

Pre-loaded shipments are prepared by warehouse staff; you will unload at each stop and maintain safe, clean operations. Requires Class A CDL, Health Card, and DOT compliance; HazMat endorsement preferred. Up to 28 hours/week.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Must possess or be in the process of obtaining a Class A CDL.
• Possess a current Health Card or ability to obtain one.
• HazMat endorsement or ability to obtain one (US/PR/Guam).
• Know and follow DOT regulations for CDL drivers.
• Maintain Hours-of-Service per DOT rules.

Responsibilities

• Using a handheld scanner to manage deliveries.
• Unload product from trucks by hand, pallet jack, or forklift.
• Deliver to branches and customers promptly and professionally.
• Coordinate with shipping and receiving for smooth handoffs.
• Keep equipment, workspace, and vehicles clean and organized.
• Inspect and report defects or issues with equipment.
• Follow DOT safety regulations and company health/sustainability rules.
• Complete required safety trainings and certifications.

Up to 28 hours/week

OVERVIEW:

Find your future at Fastenal! Our distribution center is hiring energetic, team oriented individuals be on our transportation team! Working as a Part-Time Driver (DOT-Class A CDL), you will be representing our fleet as you deliver from Fastenal Distribution Centers to branches and customer on-site locations. You will operate a safe, well-maintained and late model tractor trailer or straight truck. Delivery trucks are pre-loaded, in order of delivery, by warehouse employees prior to departure and you will be responsible for unloading the freight at each stop along your route; most routes average 10-12 stops. We offer established routes that may see periodic change based off needs of the company. RESPONSIBILITIES:

The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Utilizing a handheld scanner
• Unloading product from trucks by hand, pallet jack, or by forklift
• Providing excellent service to our branches and customers by delivering product in a prompt, efficient manner
• Interacting with our shipping and receiving departments
• Maintaining a clean work environment within our equipment
• Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of work area
• Inspecting and reporting defects or issues in equipment
• Complying with DOT and Fastenal safety regulations
• Complying with health, safety and sustainability rules and expectations
• Participating in activities and programs that help the company achieve health, safety and sustainability objectives
• Learning, passing, and practicing various environmental health and safety trainings

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Possess or are currently in progress of obtaining a Class A Commercial Driver's License
• Possess a current Health Card OR have the ability to obtain one
• Possess a current Haz Mat endorsement OR have the ability to obtain one (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY)
• Meet Fastenal driving record requirements
• Demonstrate strong working knowledge of the DOT regulations in regards to a CDL Driver
• Maintain DOT regulated Drivers Hours-of-Service
• Willingness to drive interstate routes across state lines
• Demonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork
• Lift up to 60 lbs. and maneuver up to 150lbs.
• Successfully complete the required DOT drug and alcohol screens, road test, employment verification and background check

PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

• Prior driving work experience
• Prior experience operating a forklift
