Job summary

Fastenal Co. is seeking a Full-time Driver (DOT - CDL) Class A to deliver from Fastenal Distribution Centers to branches and customer sites in Manassas, VA.

You will operate late-model tractors or straight trucks, unload at each stop, and maintain vehicle and loads in safe condition. The role requires navigating routes with 10–12 stops on average, ensuring timely deliveries while upholding safety and sustainability policies.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Possess or are in progress of obtaining a Class A CDL.
• Possess a current Health Card OR ability to obtain one.
• Possess a current Haz Mat endorsement OR ability to obtain one (US/PR/GU).
• Meet Fastenal driving record requirements.
• Demonstrate knowledge of DOT regulations for CDL drivers.
• Maintain DOT Hours-of-Service compliance.
• Willingness to drive interstate routes.

Responsibilities

• Use handheld scanner for deliveries and checks.
• Unload products from trucks by hand, pallet jack, or forklift.
• Provide excellent service by prompt delivery to branches and customers.
• Coordinate with shipping and receiving departments.

OVERVIEW: Find your future at Fastenal! Our distribution center is hiring energetic, team oriented individuals be on our transportation team! Working as a Full-time Driver (DOT - CDL) - Class A, you will be representing our fleet as you deliver from Fastenal Distribution Centers to branches and customer on-site locations. You will operate a safe, well-maintained and late model tractor trailer or straight truck. Delivery trucks are pre-loaded, in order of delivery, by warehouse employees prior to departure and you will be responsible for unloading the freight at each stop along your route; most routes average 10-12 stops. We offer established routes that may see periodic change based off needs of the company. RESPONSIBILITIES

• Utilizing a handheld scanner
• Unloading product from trucks by hand, pallet jack, or by forklift
• Providing excellent service to our branches and customers by delivering product in a prompt, efficient manner
• Interacting with our shipping and receiving departments
• Maintaining a clean work environment within our equipment
• Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of work area
• Inspecting and reporting defects or issues in equipment
• Complying with DOT and Fastenal safety regulations
• Complying with health, safety and sustainability rules and expectations
• Participating in activities and programs that help the company achieve health, safety and sustainability objectives
• Learning, passing, and practicing various environmental health and safety trainings

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

The following skills and qualifications are required for this position:

• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Possess or are currently in progress of obtaining a Class A Commercial Driver's License
• Possess a current Health Card OR have the ability to obtain one
• Possess a current Haz Mat endorsement OR have the ability to obtain one (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY)
• Meet Fastenal driving record requirements
• Demonstrate strong working knowledge of the DOT regulations in regards to a CDL Driver
• Maintain DOT regulated Drivers Hours-of-Service
• Willingness to drive interstate routes across state lines

• Lift up to 60 lbs. and maneuver up to 150lbs.
• Successfully complete the required DOT drug and alcohol screens, road test, employment verification and background check
• Pass a background check, required by a customer/contract serviced by this location

PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

• Prior driving work experience
• Prior experience operating a forklift
