Job summary

Fastenal is hiring an Over the Road Driver (DOT-CDL) Class A in Jessup, PA 18434. This full-time position delivers to distribution centers and customer sites using late-model tractors, with routes that may include interstate travel.

Responsibilities include prompt delivery, scanning deliveries, unloading as needed, and coordinating with shipping/receiving to ensure accuracy. Candidates must hold a Class A CDL, Health Card, HazMat endorsement if applicable, and pass pre-employment screenings.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A license required or in progress.
• Health Card required or ability to obtain.
• Haz Mat endorsement or ability to obtain.
• Meet Fastenal driving record requirements.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and Hours of Service.
• Lift up to 60 lbs and maneuver up to 150 lbs.
• Pass pre-employment screens and background checks.
• Willingness to travel and drive interstate routes.

Responsibilities

OVERVIEW:
Find your future at Fastenal! Our distribution center is hiring energetic, team oriented individuals be on our transportation team! Working as a Full-Time Driver (DOT - CDL) - Class A, you will be representing our fleet as you deliver to/from Fastenal Distribution Centers to branches and customer on-site locations. You will operate a safe, well-maintained and late model tractor trailer or straight truck. Delivery trucks are pre-loaded, in order of delivery, by warehouse employees prior to departure and most routes average 1-2 stops. We offer established routes that may see periodic change based off needs of the company. RESPONSIBILITIES

The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Providing excellent service to our branches and customers by delivering product in a prompt, efficient manner
• Utilizing a handheld scanner
• Unloading product from trucks by hand, pallet jack, or by forklift
• Interacting with our shipping and receiving departments
• Maintaining a clean work environment within our equipment
• Inspecting and reporting defects or issues in equipment
• Complying with DOT and Fastenal safety regulations
• Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of work area
• Complying with health, safety and sustainability rules and expectations
• Participating in activities and programs that help the company achieve health, safety and sustainability objectives
• Learning, passing, and practicing various environmental health and safety trainings

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

The following skills and qualifications are required for this position:

• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Possess or are currently in progress of obtaining a Class A Commercial Driver's License
• Possess a current Health Card OR have the ability to obtain one
• Possess a current Haz Mat endorsement OR have the ability to obtain one (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY)
• Meet Fastenal driving record requirements
• Demonstrate strong working knowledge of the DOT regulations in regards to a CDL Driver
• Maintain DOT regulated Drivers Hours-of-Service
• Willingness to travel
• Willingness to drive interstate routes across state lines

• Lift up to 60 lbs. and maneuver up to 150lbs.
• Successfully complete the required DOT drug and alcohol screens, road test, employment verification and background check
• Successfully pass a post offer pre-employment drug screen, background check, and previous employment verification, required by a customer/contract serviced by this location

PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

• Prior driving work experience
• Prior experience operating a forklift
