Job summary

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Yard Driver in Braintree, MA. The role offers weekly pay, comprehensive benefits, and a driving career noted for safety and reliability.

Expected hours are 45+ per week with a local home-daily schedule. Full training is provided; weekly earnings of $1,496+ are highlighted along with medical and PTO benefits after a short probation period.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Class A CDL and endorsements.
• Ability to pass Ryder drug test and background checks.
• 3 possible experience ranges: 9 months in past 3 years, 2 years in past 5 years, or 5 years in past 10 years.
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures.

Responsibilities

• Safely handle and maneuver tractor trailers on the yard and on local roads.
• Adhere to safety and DOT regulations and participate in ongoing training.
• Maintain accurate records and logs; manage yard inventory.
• Provide excellent customer service and support day-to-day operations.

• Ryder Drivers are Paid Weekly
• Hourly Pay: $31.50 Per Hour
• Hours Per Week: 45+ hours per week
• Paid Training
• Schedule: Monday – Friday; Weekends Required
• Start Time: 6:00 AM

Yard Driving

• Route: Local Home Daily
• Tractor Type: Day Cab or Yard Hostler Truck
• TrailerType: Dry Van 28', 48', 53'
• Freight: No Touch – Retail Freight

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
  • 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
  • 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
  • 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
  • Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
  • Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures

Responsibilities

• This position is primarily responsible for safely handling and maneuvering tractor trailers on the yard and within an area on public roads
• The position requires compliance with safety & DOT Regulations, continuous training and customer service

Additional Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
• Maintaining accurate records and logs
• Maintaining accurate move and yard inventory records Other tasks as assigned
