Job summary

Corewell Health in Grand Rapids is seeking a driver to transport staff, patients and visitors in a safe, timely and professional manner. This safety-sensitive role requires performing vehicle inspections, minor repairs and cleaning, while adapting to wet or icy conditions.

You will communicate with dispatch by radio, monitor parking areas for security concerns, and maintain accurate documentation in line with regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must be at least 20 years old at hire.
• Excellent driving record is required.
• MI Driver's License Endorsement P (Passenger) is required.
• Chauffeur License and CDL endorsements as specified by MI rules.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification may be required on hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides transportation for employees, guests and community groups to and from various locations.
• Performs limited maintenance and care of department vehicles and equipment.
• Notifies supervisor of anticipated repair needs.
• Uses radio to communicate with dispatch and other shuttle drivers while in route.
• Monitors parking areas and grounds for hazards and reports them as needed.
• Ensures documentation is completed accurately and timely per regulations and policy.

The Driver position is a safety-sensitive position that requires a high degree of responsibility transporting staff, patients, and visitors in a safe, timely and professional manner. The driver must be able to operate vehicle in all weather and driving conditions with multiple distractions. Drivers are required to perform vehicle inspections, minor repairs, and cleaning duties. They are also responsible for monitoring parking areas and grounds for potential security issues.

Essential Functions

• Provides transportation for employees, guests and community groups to and from various locations
• Performs limited maintenance and care of department vehicles and equipment.
• Notifies supervisor of anticipated repair needs as appropriate
• Uses the radio to appropriately communicate with dispatch and other shuttle drivers while in route.
• Monitors parking area and grounds for suspicious activity or hazards and reports them to the appropriate department
• Ensures appropriate documentation is completed in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with regulations and department policy

Qualifications
