Job summary

Corewell Health is seeking a Residential Aide to provide personal care, monitor residents' health, and support daily living activities at our Grand Rapids facility.

You will assist with ADLs, medication administration under RN direction, transport residents, and help maintain a safe, clean group home environment in a part-time role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS (AHA) within 30 days required, ARC option acceptable.
• First Aid certification (AHA) within 30 days required.

Responsibilities

• Assists residents with ADLs and personal care following care guidelines.
• Monitors health and reports signs of illness to supervisor or medical staff.
• Dispenses and charts medications; administers tube feedings and nursing tasks under RN supervision.
• Transports residents to community appointments and activities; helps create monthly calendars.
• Prepares meals per dietary guidelines and encourages resident participation when appropriate.
• Maintains a clean, orderly foster home; handles laundry with resident involvement when possible.
• Completes daily care documentation including health status and behavior plans.

Job Summary

Provides personal care assistance, instruction, and promotes independence and quality of life for residents. The Residential Aide also performs a variety of household tasks essential to the operation and cleanliness of the group home.

Essential Functions

• Assists and instructs residents with ADL’s and personal care, according to each resident’s care guidelines.


• Monitors the health of residents and reports any signs of residents’ illness to the supervisor or designated medical staff. Attends staff meetings, resident care conferences, and in-service education programs as assigned.


• Dispenses and charts medication according to each resident’s medication chart. Administers tube feedings, dressing changes, and assists with other medical care under RN supervision/direction as needed.


• Transports residents in company vehicles to community appointments and recreational events as assigned, and to on site day activity. At times will research and develop a monthly calendar of community events.


• Prepares meals according to dietary menu and resident dietary guidelines, inviting resident participation, as appropriate, according to resident care plans and goals and swallowing guidelines.


• Maintains a clean orderly foster home environment, does daily laundry and invites resident participation in these activities, as appropriate, according to resident care plans and goals.


• Completes daily documentation on the level of resident care provided, on activities, on goals addressed, on health status, and on any behavior programming. Demonstrates knowledge of safety and infection control policies and procedures, maintaining a safe and clean environment.

Qualifications

Required

• High School Diploma or equivalent


• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 30 Days required Or


• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 30 Days required


• CRT-First Aid - AHA American Heart Association 30 Days required

Preferred

• 1 year of relevant experience in a rehabilitation or health care setting


• LIC-Driver's License - STATE_MI State of Michigan


• LIC-Chauffeur License - STATE_MI State of Michigan 90 Days
