Job summary

Corewell Health is seeking an experienced administrative professional to direct and maintain accountability for complex programs in a hospital setting. The role provides administrative support, uses software to optimize office workload, and ensures operations run smoothly in management's absence.

Responsibilities include calendar management, data analysis, travel coordination, and producing reports. The ideal candidate has an associate degree and multiple years in health care or customer service

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent course work in office administration/secretarial science.
  • 2 years of relevant experience in secretarial/clerical and computer skills.
  • 2 years of administrative projects, program management, hospital/physician office, statistical data collection and analysis.
  • 2 years of relevant experience in working in a high volume service industry in business or accounting, cash handling, data systems, managed care, and Medicare product industry.
  • 2 years of relevant experience in a health care or medical research environment.
  • 2 years of relevant experience in dealing with the public, preferably in the medical or customer service field.
  • 2 years of relevant experience in database development.
  • 2 years of relevant experience in a clinical setting directing the workload of others, specimen collection and client services.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes appropriate software to maximize efficiency and effectiveness of office workload.
  • Greets and communicates with care and respect, following confidentiality policies.
  • Answers telephone, takes messages, welcomes visitors and relays information with hospitality standards.
  • Composes documents, formats, types and proofreads correspondence, memos, reports, charts, statistics, meeting minutes, newsletters, etc.
  • Performs/coordinates basic office duties such as mail, copying, filing, faxing, forms, and ordering/maintaining equipment/supplies.
  • Maintains staff/schedule/calendar for rooms/equipment; makes independent priority decisions.
  • Arranges conference/travel and meetings as needed.
  • Collects, compiles, and prepares data for analysis and develops tracking systems.
  • Manipulates data to develop reports to meet special requests and reviews reports for accuracy.

Essential Functions

  • Performs/coordinates basic office duties such as sorting/distributing mail, copying, filing, faxing, completing forms, and ordering/maintaining equipment/supplies
  • Maintains schedule/daily calendar for staff members/rooms/equipment, making independent judgments regarding priorities/rescheduling
  • Arranges for conference/travel, meetings as needed
  • Collects, compiles, and prepares data for analysis and develops systems that facilitate tracking of data
  • Manipulates data to develop unique reports to meet special requests and reviews reports/data to determine accuracy
Qualifications Required
  • Associate's Degree or equivalent specific course work in office administration/secretarial science
  • 2 years of relevant experience in secretarial/clerical and computer skills
