Job summary

MTM Transit is seeking CDL drivers with Passenger Endorsement for Allegan, MI. Training classes start regularly; location at 750 Airway Drive, Allegan, MI.

Hourly rate with CDL $21.50, without CDL $20; benefits include medical, dental, vision; paid training, holidays, PTO, 401(k), and growth opportunities. Applicants must be at least 21, with a minimum 5 years of driving history, and must pass background checks, DOT physical, and pre-employment drug screening.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 21 years of age or older.
  • Minimum 5 years driving history.
  • Valid Michigan Class C CDL with Passenger endorsement or ability to obtain.
  • No suspensions or revocations in past 36 months.
  • No six-point violations in past 24 months.
  • No more than four points on driving record.
  • No DUI/DWI in last 10 years.
  • Must pass background, DOT physical, and drug/alcohol screening.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Resume with 10 years of work history.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe and reliable transportation.
  • Demonstrate defensive driving.
  • Deliver excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist with passenger loading/unloading.
  • Assist with mobility device and securement as required.
  • Ensure on-time pickup and drop-off.
  • Show sensitivity to needs of older adults and individuals with disabilities.
  • Complete pre-trip, post-trip, and DVIs; complete paperwork.
  • Use tablets or electronic devices as required.

What will your job look like?

MTM Transit, in partnership with Allegan County, is looking for both Full Time & Part Time, CDL Drivers with Passenger Endorsement to join our team in Allegan, MI. We currently have training classes that start every few weeks!

Location: 750 Airway Drive Allegan, MI

  • Hourly Rate: With CDL License: $21.50 (with CDL License), $20 (without CDL License)

What you’ll need:
  • Experience, Education & Certifications: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Minimum 5 years driving history
  • Must possess a valid Michigan Class C CDL/Preferred Passenger endorsement driver's license or ability to obtain
  • No suspensions or revocations in the past 36 months (This does not pertain to any commercial or CDL downgrades.)
  • No convictions of any six point violation in last 24 months
  • No more than four points on your driving record
  • No DUI or DWI convictions within the last 10 years
  • Must pass criminal background check investigation
  • Must pass a DOT physical and pre-employment drug/alcohol screening
  • Valid authorization to work in the United States
  • Must provide a resume with a minimum of 10 years work history
Skills:
  • Ability to use a tablet, GPS, two-way radio, or other electronic device
  • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality
  • Ability to communicate with others and comprehend instructions
  • Ability to understand highway traffic signs, signals, maps, manifests, and schedules
  • Ability to obtain knowledge of FTA, ADA, and DOT regulations
  • Familiarity with the main roadways and major highways in the service area
What You’ll Do:
  • Provide safe and reliable transportation
  • Demonstrate excellent defensive driving skills
  • Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Must assist with passenger loading and unloading from vehicle
  • Must assist with any mobility device and securement as required for safety protocols
  • Ensure the on-time pick-up and drop off of the customer
  • Demonstrates understanding and sensitivity to the needs of older adults and individuals with disabilities
  • Complete thorough vehicle pre-trip, post-trip, and DVI inspections as required
  • Complete paperwork as required
  • Utilize tablets or electronic devices as required
