Corewell Health is seeking a Driver to transport staff, patients, and visitors between locations in a safe, timely, and professional manner. The role requires vehicle inspections, minor repairs, and maintaining vehicle cleanliness, while monitoring grounds for security issues.

The ideal candidate will hold valid MI licenses, a clean driving record, and current BLS certification, with full-time hours at Lakeland Hospital St Joseph in Michigan.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be at least 20 years of age.
• Excellent driving record required.
• Driver's License with Endorsement P (Passenger) in Michigan.
• Chauffeur license – Michigan required.
• Commercial driver license – Michigan required.
• MDOT Medical Physical required.

Responsibilities

• Provide transportation for employees, guests and community groups.
• Perform limited vehicle maintenance and report repair needs.
• Use radio to communicate with dispatch and other drivers.
• Monitor parking areas for hazards and report findings.
• Complete documentation accurately and timely per regulations.

Job Summary

The Driver position is a safety-sensitive position that requires a high degree of responsibility transporting staff, patients, and visitors in a safe, timely and professional manner. The driver must be able to operate vehicle in all weather and driving conditions with multiple distractions. Drivers are required to perform vehicle inspections, minor repairs, and cleaning duties. They are also responsible for monitoring parking areas and grounds for potential security issues.

Essential Functions

• Provides transportation for employees, guests and community groups to and from various locations
• Performs limited maintenance and care of department vehicles and equipment. Notifies supervisor of anticipated repair needs as appropriate
• Uses the radio to appropriately communicate with dispatch and other shuttle drivers while in route.
• Monitors parking area and grounds for suspicious activity or hazards and reports them to the appropriate department
• Ensures appropriate documentation is completed in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with regulations and department policy
