Job summary

Flying Food Group, LLC in Hawaii is seeking a full-time Catering Operations Associate to facilitate efficient product delivery to and from aircraft and other locations, ensuring safety and compliance with company procedures and third-party regulations.

You will coordinate flight loads, manage vehicle movements, and support turnaround while adhering to HACCP and security requirements. The role requires physical lifting, teamwork, and flexibility to work varying shifts as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of catering operations experience.
  • Strong preference for airline catering experience.
  • Able to obtain an AOA SIDA (airport security) badge including clearing a federal background check and providing verification of identity.
  • Able to lift 50-100 lbs. and work shifts as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate flight catering by verifying loading diagrams and modules.
  • Load and unload catering vehicles and ensure timely departures.
  • Conduct pre-trip vehicle checks and report maintenance needs.

Description

This position is responsible for facilitating every aspect of product delivery to and from aircrafts or other locations in an efficient and safe manner, and in compliance with all company procedures and related third‑party safety and security regulations.

Essential Functions
Flight coordination
  • Perform final loading checks by comparing packing and loading diagrams to contents of each airline module and carrier.
  • Ensure each airline flight is correctly catered by verifying modules for completeness. Ensure flight carts and carriers contain all required equipment.
  • Verify meal carts based on flight configuration and check sheet. Ensure all meals are accounted for.
  • Monitor temperatures of carts and carriers to ensure HACCP compliance at required points of service.
Loading and transport
  • Load Catering Vehicle according to off‑loading specifications.
  • Monitor airline times and flight schedules and achieve kitchen departure times for each flight.
  • Drive safely to and from airport and ensure no accidents occur.
  • Follow airport security and ramp rules for speed limits and safety.
  • Facilitate transfer of airline modules between catering vehicles in a safe manner.
  • Load and unload aircraft in a safe and efficient manner, while ensuring appropriate arrival time to aircraft and departure from aircraft per airline requirements.
  • Off‑load vehicles at facility per established guidelines for efficient processing of airline equipment.
Vehicle Inspection and Operation
  • Conduct pre‑trip vehicle checks to ensure proper condition of vehicle.
  • Document maintenance concerns and report all needed vehicle repairs.
  • Properly operate vehicle and all components when loading and unloading aircraft to prevent damage.
Complete catering
  • Off‑load airline modules and carriers from inbound flights including removing remaining entrees from all ovens.
  • Remove bags of trash and all beverage containers for proper disposal.
  • Retain all salvageable beverage and equipment for turnaround.
  • Off‑load vehicle at facility and return modules to proper areas for efficient processing.
  • Facilitate stripping of meal carts and dishwashing to the greatest extent possible. Timely dishwashing is vital to continuous smooth operation between food production, equipment packing and catering.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum of one (1) year of related experience in the catering operations with strong preference for previous airline catering experience.
  • Strong preference for a working knowledge of aircraft galleys and in‑flight catering.
  • Must be able to obtain an AOA SIDA (airport security) badge including clearing a federal background check and providing verification of identity. Must also be able to obtain a Customs seal through additional background check through Department of Homeland Security.
  • Ability to work as a team as well as independently.
  • Able to transport heavy equipment between 50-100 lbs., with or without assistance.

  • Must be willing to work any shift or days off as leadership assigns.
Supervisory Responsibility

This position has non‑supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in an outdoor environment assisting with the loading and unloading of products. The job can be physically demanding and may require working in various weather conditions.
